With rapid advancements in life science technologies, we have entered the era of “data-driven biology,” where life phenomena are explored through the analysis of large-scale datasets such as genome and metagenomic data. In our group, we leverage cutting-edge computational tools and approaches from information science to analyze these vast datasets. Our goal is to uncover hidden rules and patterns underlying life processes, and to identify previously unknown but crucial genes. This interdisciplinary approach, known as bioinformatics, enables us to gain novel insights into the complex mechanisms that drive biological systems.
